Manulife Building is built.

Architect: Skidmore, Owings & Merrill. And Stull Associates. Designed with a blue-green, curved glass façade, it is located at 601 Congress Street. The building becomes headquarters for the John Hancock Company from 2005 to 2018. Plans call for the building to be converted to laboratory use.
